The selection of the right wick for a specific candle wax formulation is probably the most difficult but also the most important decision a candle maker has to make.

Unfortunately, there is no chart to tell the candle manufacturer exactly which wick will be ideal for a certain candle type or size, because each candle manufacturer has his own wax formulation and all the various waxes, additives, fragrances and dyes do determine the burning characteristics of a candle. Therefore, a tedious testing routine is necessary for the right wick selection.
